The Courage Fund

by National Council of Social Service

The evolving COVID-19 situation has affected Singaporeans in one way or another, including individuals who are facing loss of income or families that are struggling with additional caregiving duties and additional expenses for essential items.

The Courage Fund was first established in 2003 when Singapore was hit by the SARS outbreak. Fellow Singaporeans donated generously to the Fund to support those who were affected by the outbreak. In this same spirit of uniting the community to support one another through difficult times, Community Chest is helping to channel donations to The Courage Fund to enable those in need to tide through the current COVID-19 situation.

Where Will Your Donations Go?
All donations to The Courage Fund will go towards supporting vulnerable individuals and families. These donations will help to provide relief to those who are affected by the COVID-19 situation.

Other Forms of Support to Social Service Agencies
In tandem with this fundraising effort, the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) will also be facilitating in-kind donations of essential supplies, such as masks, sanitisers and thermometers, to support the social service agencies.

Beyond NCSS, other parts of the community have also stepped forward to help those in need, including students, volunteers as well as workers in the healthcare, transport and unions, all of whom are working to keep Singapore running. How we move forward as a community, in the face of challenges, will determine how well we would be able to overcome them.

Let us stay united in the face of this challenge and we will emerge stronger together.
